Delhi Capitals won their first match.Delhi Capitals defeated UP Warriors by 9 wickets in WPL Season 2 being played in Bangalore on Monday.

In WPL 2024 Match no 4, Delhi Capitals captain Meg Lanning won the toss and decided to bowl. Marizanne Kapp started to put pressure on UP Warriors in the beginning. Delhi pacer dismissed UP Warriors’ Alyssa Healy (13), Vrinda Dinesh (0) and Tahlia McGrath (1) in the first 5 overs. Radha Yadav and Marizanne Kapp both played brilliantly and took 4 wickets each. On behalf of UP Warriors, Sweta Sherawat scored a brilliant 45 runs in 42 balls, in which UP Warriors managed to score 119 runs in 20 overs. Delhi Capitals won the match by scoring 123 runs in (14.1 overs). Helps of Meg Lanning (51) or Shafali Verma (64*) runs. Sophia Ecclestone was the only bowler from UP Warriors who took only one wicket.

To achieve the target of 120 runs. The opening players of Delhi Capitals won the match in just 14.1 overs , for the lose of 1 wicket. After a sensational spell from Marizanne Kapp, the Warriors found it difficult to score only 119/9 in 20 overs. Shafali Verma, who was out in the first over against Mumbai Indians, took the lead in the match against UP Warriors. He played an inning of 64 runs in 43 balls with the help of 6 fours and 4 sixes. Captain Meg Lanning was out when the score was equal, otherwise Delhi could have won the match by 10 wickets.

On the basis of the magical ball of left arm spinner Radha Yadav, Delhi restricted UP Warriors to 119 runs. Delhi defeated UP Warriors by 9 wickets and achieved the target by losing 1 wicket in 14.1 overs in WPL 2024.
